Before entering law school, Mr. Perkins served in the Utah Air National Guard and managed mineral properties. Mr. Perkins graduated in 1988 from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Science Degree in political science, with a minor in economics. He was a member of the Phi Sigma Alpha and Omicron Delta Epsilon honor societies. He received a Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Idaho College of Law in 1991. For two years during law school, Mr. Perkins was a teaching assistant in the Legal Research and Writing Program.
Mr. Perkins conducts a litigation and risk management practice. His litigation experience includes employment practices, construction law, personal injury, property damage, insurance, professional liability defense, transportation, and commercial litigation. He has presented cases before the Idaho Supreme Court, Idaho Court of Appeals, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Perkins is involved in all aspects of alternative dispute resolution. Mr. Perkins also counsels and advises businesses, governmental entities and individuals on risk management strategies. Mr. Perkins is a partner in the firm.
