Mr. Mitchell grew up in Nyssa, Oregon. Mr. Mitchell graduated from the University of Oregon in 1991, where he obtained a major in Spanish and a minor in Political Science. Before entering law school, Mr. Mitchell, who is fluent in Spanish, taught English as a Second Language at Treasure Valley Community College in Nyssa, Oregon, and served as a translator/interpreter for the District and Circuit Courts of Malheur County in Vale, Oregon. Mr. Mitchell received his Juris Doctor from Willamette University College of Law in 1996. Before joining Quane Smith LLP, Mr. Mitchell practiced with a private law firm in Ontario, Oregon.

Mr.Mitchell has a litigation practice that includes Southern Idaho and Oregon. The focus of Mr. Mitchell's practice is employment practices, product liability, personal injury, and insurance coverage disputes. Mr. Mitchell is a member of both the Idaho and Oregon bars, and he is admitted to practice in state and federal courts in both states. He was a member/exchequer of the Phi Delta Phi Legal Ethics Fraternity. Mr. Mitchell is an associate with the firm, and he practices in the Boise office.
